What is Nutrition

Nutrition is one of the most important spokes on the wheel of health.
In 1992, an article published in the Journal of the American Medical Association concluded that it is impossible to get sufficient nutrition from diet alone and therefore Americans must supplement.

This is not a new problem. It was first written about in the 1930’s when the government issued a notice reporting that due to problems caused by improper crop rotation and not letting the land rest and replenish, the nutritional value of food had significantly decreased.

That was the 1930’s. Do you believe the problem has improved?

Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) standards are established to be just enough to avoid common vitamin deficiency diseases. It does not account for what’s needed to maintain optimum health. What people should be striving for is an optimum daily allowance (ODA), which is often 5 to 100 times higher than government RDA guidelines. RDA quantities”keep people in ordinary poor health…” according to Dr. Linus Pauling, winner of multiple Nobel Peace prizes, and 1 of only 2 people to ever be awarded the prize in two different fields.

If you have been living by the philosophy that, “I don’t need to take vitamins. It can’t be that important or my doctor would have said something to me”, you are burying your head in the sand. Do your research. Nutritional problems are very real and need to be addressed if a person expects to be healthy.

Unfortunately, the arena of dietary supplementation can be very confusing due to the vast number of different supplements and supplement companies.

At Creedmoor Wellness Center we understand the confusion surrounding nutrition and offer a wide variety of classes and individual nutritional counseling to try to dispel the myths and lies, and bring health to the forefront.
